Wild Horse Press 1 Year Anniversary 30% off Sale!

Wild Horse Press

Whoo-Hoo! Today is the wonderful online publisher that I really love visiting to find new author’s and their books to read. Wild Horse Press is celebrating it’s 1 Year Anniversary and I’m so happy for them that I had to post about it so that everyone knows about it. I have had the pleasure of finding so many wonderful authors whose books I’ve so enjoyed reading as well as reviewing them on my review blog. I was lucky enough to find about this wonderful online publisher through paranormal romance author Jessica Coulter Smith who contacted me one day about reviewing her novel Moonlight Protector as well as being interviewed on my review blog along with an author guest blog about the novel. I also had the pleasure of chatting live with Jessica Coulter Smith on my live podcast show TAMFA—Phoebe Jordan show about her writing and about her books which include her stand-alone novel, Vicus Luna, as well as her amazing paranormal Ashton Grove Werewolves series which include Moonlight Protector, Moonlight Hero and Moonlight Guardian as well as the unofficial prequel to the series, Whispering Lake.

Wild Horse Press

That was only the beginning for me and my now wonderful friendship with one of my favorite online publishers Wild Horse Press because I then discovered several other wonderful authors that I now can’t wait to find out when their next release will come out. I was next introduced to the wonderful romance author Paige Warren who I’ve had the pleasure of reading and reviewing two of her short stories such as, Baby and All and Unexpected Wife. Then I had the pleasure of getting to know romance author Jasmine Aherne who I interviewed on my review blog as well as had her guest blog about her novel, Between the Lines, which I had the pleasure of reviewing. I was also introduced to young adult romance author, Linda Palmer, who use to be a Silhouette adult romance author. I had the pleasure of reading and reviewing her two YA books, Jaguar Moon and Storm Swept, as well as having a great time interviewing her here on my review blog with a guest blog about her YA novel but that wasn’t all. I got the opportunity to chat with her on my live podcast show TAMFA—Phoebe Jordan about her writing both as an adult romance author and as a young adult romance author.

Wild Horse Press

I recently was introduced to T.L. Mitchell who is a new paranormal romance author who got her debut novel published by Wild Horse Press. I had the pleasure of reviewing her paranormal romance novel, Dark of kNight, which is the first book of her Dark of kNight series that was previously self-published with AuthorHouse but was re-released in a second edition in e-book format with Wild Horse Press. I am also happy to announce that I will soon be interviewing T.L. Mitchell live on my podcast show on Friday, January 15th at 6PM to 7:30PM EST (5PM to 6:30PM CST / 3PM to 4:30PM PST). We will be chatting about her Dark of kNight series as well as her future books that will be published in 2010 which are, Fall of kNight (Book 2) and Dawn of kNight (Book 3). I also had the pleasure of reading and reviewing an advanced readers copy of Blood Dance (Book 1 of Seeds of Oden series) which is the debut novel of J.L. Oiler and won’t be out until Tuesday, January 26th. I hope to also get to read her upcoming novels in her Seeds of Oden series that will be published sometime in 2010. Wild Horse Press is one of my favorite online publishers because they represent wonderful authors whose novels I’ve so much enjoyed reading and reviewing on my review blog. They publish clean, well written and formatted e-books of several different genres that are easy to download and read on my computer and eReader. I can’t help but come back to their website to find more of their author’s new books to download and read as soon as possible. Now the excited news is that Wild Horse Press is offering their titles at 30% off on the All Romance eBooks site the first two weeks of January in celebration. In addition to 30% off all their ARe titles, they are also giving away a tote bag filled with goodies – including some autographed novels! All you have to do to enter is email your name to wildhorsepress @ gmail . com (without the spaces) with the subject line NEW YEAR DRAWING. One lucky person will have their name drawn on January 15th and the winner will be announced on their website.

I have read a couple of ebooks published by Wild Horse Press which include ebooks by Jessica Coulter Smith, Linda Palmer and Paige Warren. So when Wild Horse Press contacted me to inquire if I accepted review requests from publishers and asked me if I would like to review Paige Warren’s short contemporary romance story I accepted. I love their website because it is so clean and easy to find everything you would like to know about their authors, books and submission guidelines and more. I might really consider submitting my manuscript to them if I ever get it finished and editing enough to fit their requirements for submission. I have read and reviewed Paige Warren’s other short story called Baby and All for Wild Horse Press so I was looking forward to reading her newly released short story. Well onto the book review for Paige Warren’s latest short contemporary romance story, Unexpected Wife, that I will say right off I finished off in less than 6 hours after starting it.
This novel when I first read the blurb reminded me of her novel, Baby and All, because it was about a woman on the run from a man. It begins with Ainsley McCullough, the heroine, being on the running from her past for a while and when she stumbles across an abandoned farm house, she thinks that maybe things will start to look up. Getting a job in the small Texas town, she’s surprised to learn the man who owns her home is in jail since she is on the run from the police because she thinks that she killed her ex-boyfriend when he tried to kill her. Braedan O’Connor, the hero, was falsely accused of a crime and has spent the past year in jail and so he’s anxious to get home and see what kind of damage has been done to his home. When Braedan enters his home and smells homemade apple pie, he’s surprised to say the least because then he spots the woman responsible for the mouth watering smell and all of his senses come alive. Ainsley hadn’t expected to get caught in the man’s home and so when she comes face to face with the handsome stranger, she isn’t sure what to expect. Knowing he was in jail frightens her, almost as much as his good looks turn her on and so now she wonders what price will she have to pay for invading his home?
Well though I found some similarities in this book from her previous short story it was unique with it’s own plot that had me wanting more. I really enjoyed reading about Ainsley and Braeden who are complex characters in their own right which is something I like in a story. I don’t read that many short stories because I feel that I don’t get to know the characters that well in such a short space of time but I couldn’t stop reading this short story because it was GREAT! It was a bit fast paced but I loved reading about Ainsley who is a woman that wants to make a life for herself even though she’s scared that she may have killed her abusive ex-boyfriend. I also really loved reading about Braeden who is a strong and handsome man who is so honest and a real gentleman though he was sent to prison for a crime that he didn’t commit. Paige Warren delivers yet another wonderfully romantic romance short story that will keep you reading from start to end wondering what will happen next for Ainsley and Braeden. I’m a fan of Paige’s short stories and will be looking out for more in the future but I’m hoping that she will one day write a full-length romance novel for me to enjoy because these short stories are only whetting my appetite. I give this book 4 Open Books:

I have read a couple of ebooks published by Wild Horse Press such as Jessica Coulter Smith’s first book in her Ashton Grove Werewolves series called Moonlight Protector and her stand-alone novel Mangolia Magick through Manic Readers. Well onto the book review for Paige Warren’s short contemporary romance story that I will say right off I finished off in less than 6 hours after starting it. The story starts with the heroine, Fiona, who is tired of running because she’d made one stupid mistake, by the name of Garret. Garret is her ex-boyfriend who at the beginning of their relationship was a total gentleman who swept her off her feet but that all changed after he found out she was having his baby and they moved in together. Now she’s pregnant and on the run, then she collapses near a small town after she drove her wreck of a car off the road in order to miss hitting a dog. Lucky for her, a handsome man happens along and stops to help her instead of driving by like he didn’t see anything.
Aidan Forrest first notices the car on the side of the road and so when he gets closer and sees a woman slumped over the steering wheel, he rushes to check on her. Imagine his surprise when he sees that she’s pregnant but that doesn’t stop them from having an instant attraction to one another that neither of them asked for. So now fighting an attraction for his unexpected guest, Aidan wishes that Fiona would be more open with him because he knows that she’s in trouble after just one look into her haunted eyes they tell him that much. With Garrett on her trail, Fiona knows she can’t stay with Aidan for long, but oh how she wants to stay with him because being in his arms makes her feel safe, something she hasn’t felt in quite a while. I don’t read that many short stories because I feel that I don’t get to know the characters that well in such a short space of time but I couldn’t stop reading this short story because it was GREAT! It was a bit fast paced but I loved reading about Fiona who is such a strong and independent person even though she doesn’t feel like she is at first. I also really loved reading about Aidan who is a strong and handsome man who is so honest and a real gentleman. Paige Warren delivers a wonderfully romantic romance short story that will keep you reading from start to end. I’m not much into reading short stories but if I find more short stories like Paige Warren’s I might start reading more short stories. I give this book 4 Open Books:

Phoebe Jordan

I'm a part-time aspiring romance novelist, book reviewer and blogger. I've always wanted to travel the world and learn everything I can about other countries. Learning the Italian language is one way of trying to make that dream come true. Traveling will help me with my writing because I'll be learning about the history of the U.S., Latin America, England, Italy, and Ireland, the countries I find so fascinating while reading the romance genre. I read and review romance novels of almost every subgenre along with erotic romance, mystery, sci-fi/fantasy and young adult novels. You can find the reviews at my blogs, Talk About My Favorite Authors and Phoebe Jordan's Reviews. I’ve also started a live podcast show called TAMFA | Phoebe Jordan hosted on Blog Talk Radio. This show is dedicated to everything I love about romance and young adult novels. I love having romance and young adult authors live on my show to be interviewed and showcase their books. I plan to write contemporary romance, romantic suspense, erotic romance, paranormal romance and young adult when I get my writing career started with help from Keta. I'm not sure what genre I'll write to begin with since I love to read so many different romance genres.
