Well I’ve got a special guest blogger here today named Jessica Coulter Smith. I met her on Facebook when she joined my group Romance Readers and Writers and started posting on one of the threads I had on there asking me about the books I’ve read and reviewed. Well I she posted a bit about her current release and I got interested about it so I went to her website and found out more about her werewolf series. I was really intrigued with the blurb on her website and left a comment about being interested in reviewing it on my blog in her guestbook. So later she contacted me and asked me if I really was interesting in reading and reviewing her novel and I of course sent her message back that said yes. I also asked her if she would be interested in being a guest blogger here on the blog as well as having me interview her here on the blog as well. She was delighted about it and here she is guest blogging about her first and current release Moonlight Protector. I will be interviewing her soon on the blog so you watch out for it as well as watch out for my review of her novel Moonlight Protector.
* * * *
Moonlight Protector is actually a spinoff of my first novel, Whispering Lake. While the hero in Moonlight Protector is not the main character in Whispering Lake, he had a very important role. By the time I was finished with the book, I decided that Cole’s story wasn’t done yet. Deciding that he deserved a happy ending, I started working on Moonlight Protector, which is the first part of the Ashton Grove Werewolves series.
Writing the book started out as an easy task, but there were a few bumps along the way. I’d go back and re-read a chapter or two and think “what was I thinking?” delete it and start again. In total, the book took me about 6 months to write.
Currently, I’m working on the 2nd book of the series, Moonlight Hero, which is Gabriel’s story. Originally the series was going to be based on just the three werewolf brothers, but it’s grown since then. At the moment I’m looking at 6 books to complete the series, but who knows what will happen along the way…it may end up being closer to 8 books before I call it quits and start another series.
Blurb of the novel
Andrews, biologist by trade and werewolf by blood, is tired of being alone. He and his two brothers live in the large Victorian home that had belonged to their parents. He’s always wanted to find his mate and start a family. Now that he’s in his thirties, he’s starting to give up hope. He’s already seen all of the women available in his small town of Ashton Grove and so far none of them are “the one.”
Marin Thomas is fleeing for her life. After being abducted and held hostage, she is determined to escape the maniac once and for all. Stealing his car, she travels as far and as fast as she can—until a car accident lands her in some woods near Ashton Grove, Georgia. Fighting for her very life, she finds herself begging a wolf for help.
Is Marin the mate that Cole has been waiting for? Or will she end up with one of his brothers? One sniff tells him that she belongs to his pack. The only question that remains is who will win her heart?

P.S. My publisher is doing a Valentine’s Special…I’m not sure if there’s a place to stick that in the midst of all of this or not…but if someone buys a copy of Moonlight Protector from Wild Horse Press or Amazon Kindle (ebook only), they will receive a free copy of Angel’s Fire, Demon’s Blood by Tamela Quijas (and vice versa – purchase Ms. Quijas’s book and receive mine free). They just need to email their proof of purchase to firstname.lastname@example.org and a pdf copy of the other book will be sent to them. It’s running from today through Feb 23rd.
