Title: See Bride Run!
Author: Charlotte Hughes
Publisher: CreateSpace Publishing
Publication Date: December 23, 2014
The first sentence of the book is “The Wedding had the makings of a Fairytale.” I knew that this would not be a fairytale wedding because the title of the book is See Bride Run! Which is a dead giveaway that at least the first wedding will not be happening. Annie seems like a young woman who has had her entire life mapped out for her by her very controlling and rich father. She has been the good obedient daughter who listened to her father especially after her twin brother was killed in an automobile accident. I could relate a bit with her since at first I didn’t know what to do with my life after high school but it wasn’t until I got out into the world that I knew I needed to go back to school and find a career that I can love. When Annie first meets Sam after first arriving at Pinckney they didn’t know what to do with the attraction that they initially felt for one another. It was fun watching how they slowly got to know one another while trying not to fall in love since they both have had bad luck with love in the past. As I was reading the book there were a few punctuation mistakes that kind of distracted me from some of the story though I was able to get past them because the relationship that Hughes was slowly building between Annie and Sam had me turning the pages to find out what would they both do next.
Reading Annie and Sam’s journey to finally finding the love that they both have wanted but seemed like they might never have it was a bit slow with some pit stops of misunderstandings and getting to know one another while having the whole town interfering. I felt that this book was a fun and exciting romance novel that had me from the very first sentence. I especially loved the epilogue because she left me feeling fully satisfied with how Annie and Sam’s romance ended without leaving me feeling like there was something missing which has happened sometimes when I’ve read a romance novel. I’ve read Hughes’ Kate Holly Crazy series books and when she went on a break from publishing new books I’ve always kept an eye out for when she would finally publish something new. So when I got a message from her that she had a new release and wanted to know if I would like to review the book. I obviously said yes because I knew she would deliver a good romantic read for me and that is why I give this book 4 Open Books.
