I was inspired by Neil Gaiman’s fantasy adventure Stardust. Whereas that book took a more whimsical approach to the concept of a star falling to earth, I went in a different direction. Instead of a mythical kingdom, I wanted to tell a story set on future Earth. The book took between 3 to 4 months to complete. Starstruck: Hunter takes places in Neptune, Virginia, in a future where creatures that go bump in the night live in uneasy peace with humans. This is, above all else, a love story, but I had a blast creating this world where humans hunt fallen stars for their energy, supernatural creatures walk among mortals, and danger lurks around every corner. Starstruck: Hunter has something for everyone: passion, betrayal, knife fights, inappropriate use of snack foods, and, of course, a happy ending.
A woman on the run…
When twenty-four year old star Miranda Snow crash lands on Earth, a place where humans hunt and kill her kind for their life-prolonging energy, she doesn’t know who to trust. Danger is everywhere. Her only hope for survival lies in the unlikely arms of ex-star hunter Noah Benson. Tall, dark and jaded, Noah’s touch sparks her passion and melts her defenses.
A man with a dark secret…
Nine years ago, Noah lost everything in one night: his freedom, his friends and all hopes of a future in astronomy. Years later he is driven by revenge against the man responsible, a ruthless killer determined to claim Miranda—something Noah refuses to let happen. But when faced with an impossible choice, will he be able to protect Miranda or will he lose her forever?
